Suzie Marshall

My theatre life started at the age of 13 on the stage with a youth group called Forth Children’s Theatre and took part in most shows with them until I graduated to ETA at the age of 19.  I joined with my dad, Derek Marshall and we haven’t looked back since.  I took some time out to study and have a family, but the pull of ETA was very strong, and it wasn’t long before I was back under the spotlights again!

Since we are such a small group we turn our hand to anything.  In the 20 years I have been with ETA I have performed all roles within the theatre.  That’s the beauty of our group!  You gain a holistic experience.  Of course, you have your favourite jobs.  Mine would be Acting and Directing.
I have directed twice so far for ETA, “Steel Magnolias” and “The Servant of Two Masters”. Both times we won at the Drama Festivals we entered, but my first love is Acting!  Nothing beats that!  My favourite acting roles so far would be playing Rita in “Educating Rita” and  Jo in  “A Taste of Honey”.  Occasionally we get to take part in other activities. ETA took part in an initiative by the RSC called ‘Open Stages’.  Some of us were lucky enough to join with them at various workshops in Glasgow.
